How the relationship shaped Proteka

SAKIGAKE JAPAN became our first client and remains a current client. The founder established Proteka Advisory in response to the practical work and support needed through this relationship.

Our approach grew from working through real questions: understanding local conditions, comparing options, preparing project materials and coordinating the next steps with a Japanese client.

What the work covers

Local market and value-chain research

The work includes fisheries value-chain mapping and fish-price research. A report on Pulau Langkai, near Makassar, examines how catch moves between fishers, local buyers and the wider market, and the operating questions around cold-chain services.

Technical and commercial preparation

Project materials include cold-storage and solar-energy comparisons, simulations, budget tools and business-model work. These help structure the choices to be discussed with the client.

Communication and coordination

Project coordination includes meeting and site-visit materials, project roadmaps and an Indonesian–Japanese technical briefing on cold-chain sensors and IoT.

What this experience means for clients

It gives our service model a practical foundation: research informs the discussion, local context shapes the plan, and continued coordination supports the agreed next steps.

The engagement is ongoing. This case focuses on the research, planning and coordination delivered so far.
