Bappenas and partners launched Indonesia’s Water, Energy, Food Nexus roadmap in December 2025. It provides an integrated planning direction, which makes the energy and resource implications of a water project relevant alongside its treatment objective.

Factories and utility operators need to compare treatment costs with interruption, replacement water and maintenance. Variable influent, chemical supply, sludge management and operator skills can determine whether the advertised performance is sustained.
The people using the solution
Users care about service reliability, affordability and trust in water quality. Communities near a treatment site also need clarity on discharges, odour and how service problems will be addressed.
