Waste generators, collectors, processors and offtakers need compatible contracts. The economic case depends on feedstock quality, transport, processing costs and product acceptance; assumed gate fees or sales prices need direct validation.
The people using the solution
Informal collectors and neighbouring residents may be affected by changes in material ownership, traffic, odour and working conditions. A project should understand existing livelihoods and provide a practical way to raise concerns.

Start with a material audit and buyer specifications. Test a stable stream at modest scale, tracking recovery yield and residue disposal as well as energy consumption and revenue.
Questions a useful project should resolve
- Can sufficient material of the required quality be secured?
- Who will buy the recovered product and at what specification?
- How will residues, odour and community impacts be managed?
These are opportunities to investigate, not confirmed market demand. A field study should test the customer, operating conditions and commercial assumptions.
